The years after World War II should have been a time when Jews found great comfort in America. Yet despite America’s victory over Nazism, Jews remained concerned about anti-Semitism. With the Cold War, HUAC, and McCarthy, most Jews in the film industry were too frightened to speak out, but non-Jews like Darryl F. Zanuck and Edward Dmytryk took on important films like Gentlemen's Agreement and The Young Lions. (Clips to be shown)
